Course overview

The BA in Humanities provides students with an interdisciplinary approach to the study of a range of humanities subjects through a combination of interdisciplinary and single subject modules. You will be required to complete interdisciplinary core modules, designed to develop your skills, to support your learning, and to help you engage with methodologies and approaches appropriate to the discipline. Elective modules will cover aspects of history, visual studies, literature and archaeology. The course is suitable for students wishing to study part time as well as full time applicants.

Year One (120 credits)

You will study two core (compulsory modules) which are designed to provide you with a background to and understanding of a range of issues in the humanities, and a further 60 credits of elective modules from a range of subject areas.

Year Two (240 credits)

You will take another two compulsory interdisciplinary modules and a further 60 credits of elective modules.

Year Three (360 credits)

To finish your degree you complete a dissertation (30 credits) and a further 90 credits of modules of a range of interdisciplinary and single subject areas.
