High-quality teaching
In independent teaching assessments carried out by the
Quality Assurance Agency, 39 of our subjects were awarded
‘excellent’ ratings, scoring between 22 and 24 out of 24.
These high ratings were achieved because we employ
academic staff who strive to inspire the same passion they
have for their subjects in their students. Many of them are
considered to be world experts in their fields, meaning you
learn from the very best.
We combine traditional teaching methods with the latest technology to ensure learning remains exciting and stimulating. Depending on your course, you might be taught through lectures, seminars, small-group tutorials and multimedia and internet technology.
Internationally recognised research
Nottingham is renowned as being a centre of academic excellence, not least because our research contributes to life-changing developments across the UK.
In the latest Research Assessment Exercise, an independent
review of UK research, more than 90 per cent of our research
was classed as being of international quality, and nearly 60
per cent as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.
The results meant we were listed in the UK top 10 in 27
different subjects.

Guidance and support
Coming to university is also about learning to live and study independently. At Nottingham, we are committed to helping you to do that. As well as being allocated a personal tutor, you will have access to a wide range of specialist support services should you need them.
