Money matters
At Nottingham we're committed to making full-time study here both accessible and affordable.
To support new full-time UK students we're offering one of the most generous bursary schemes in the country and we estimate that around a third of our new full-time UK students joining us in 2010, will be eligible to benefit from our bursary scheme. That’s in addition to any higher education grant you may be eligible for if you are a UK student.
Like most other universities in England, Nottingham will be charging new full-time UK students an annual tuition fee of £3,290 (subject to an inflationary rise). If you are interested in studying a second undergraduate degree, your tuition fees may be higher and you will not be eligible for a University bursary or student loan. There are some exceptions to this rule – please contact us for clarification. However, if you wish to defer the cost of your tuition fees until after you have left university you can apply for a tuition fee loan up to the amount your university charges for your course and the money will be paid direct to your university.
European students will also be charged the same annual fee as UK students and will benefit from being able to defer payment under the same terms as UK students. Although not eligible for the University’s bursary scheme, some subjects do offer individual course based scholarships for which European students are eligible.

If you’re thinking of studying for a full-time degree starting in 2011, it’s worth comparing not only the reputation of your short list of universities, and whether the course content appeals to you, but also how much financial support you are likely to receive. A bit of research now, may well pay off in the long-term!
